The Apple Watch Ultra 2 was announced earlier this month, with the iPhone 15 range of devices. The company’s latest luxury smartwatch includes a few hardware advancements over last year’s Apple Watch Ultra, the company’s first smartwatch with a 49mm display and titanium body. These include a new CPU, which is also featured in the Apple Watch Series 9 model. Wearers will also be able to manage the smartwatch using a double tap gesture, which is a new function introduced in this year’s models.
The company’s new Apple Watch Ultra 2 went on sale in global countries and India on September 22, whereas the first-generation Apple Watch Ultra is no longer available on Apple’s website, a year after its release.

Pricing in India
- The Apple Watch Ultra 2 is priced at Rs. 89,900 in India and is available for purchase through the company’s website, official Apple stores in Mumbai and Delhi, and licenced resellers around the country. The Smartwatch, like its predecessor, is available in Natural Titanium.
- However, the first-generation Apple Watch Ultra, which was also launched in India last year for Rs. 89,900, is no longer featured on Apple’s website. However, it costs Rs. 84,990 on Amazon and Rs. 79,900 from Croma.
The prices of both wearables may be reduced during the upcoming Amazon Great Indian Festival and Flipkart’s Big Billion Days sales.

- Both the Apple Watch Ultra 2 and the first-generation Apple Watch Ultra have a 1.91-inch Retina LTPO OLED display with an always-on mode, a resolution of 502×410 pixels, and a pixel density of 338ppi. However, the panel on the Apple Watch Ultra 2 has a peak brightness of 3,000 nits, compared to 2,000 nits on the previous year’s mode
- The Apple Watch Ultra 2 is powered by the company’s new Apple S9 SiP, which is the most significant chip upgrade to the company’s watches in several years. The previous generation was equipped with the Apple S8 SiP, which is identical to the CPU found in the Apple Watch Series 7 and Apple Watch Series 6. Both smartwatches are watchOS 10 compatible, with the Apple Watch Ultra 2 being pre-installed with the updated operating system.
- Both variants come with the same sensors: an accelerometer, gyroscope, barometer, compass, altimeter, and depth gauge. The smartwatches are equipped with health monitoring devices such as a heart rate sensor, blood oxygen saturation (SpO2) monitor, VO2Max sensor, and temperature sensor. The Apple Watch Ultra 2 features a new Ultra-Wideband 2 chip with enhanced tracking compared to last year’s model.
- Both the Apple Watch Ultra 2 and the first-generation Apple Watch Ultra support dual-band Wi-Fi, LTE, Bluetooth 5.3, NFC, and GPS. They both have a non-removable battery that can be wirelessly charged. The Apple Watch Ultra 2 and last year’s Apple Watch Ultra have 64GB and 32GB of inbuilt storage, respectively.
