The Six Nations Championship (sometimes known as the Guinness Six Nations for commercial reasons) is an annual international men’s rugby union competition between England, France, Ireland, Italy, Scotland, and Wales. Ireland holds the championship, having won the 2023 tournament, while the 2024 Six Nations Championship is presently underway.
The tournament is organised by the six participating nations’ unions under the banner of Six Nations Rugby, which is in charge of promoting and operating the men’s, women’s, and under-20s tournaments, as well as the Autumn International Series, and negotiating and managing their centralised commercial rights.
Luke McLaughlin’s essay is in, and I’ll sign off. Luke made an excellent attempt to achieve a cohesive sound on the whistle. I promise you, cracking last-minute nail-biters is fantastic, unless you need to write a report. Very well done.
And well done, Italy. They’ll mourn the squandered opportunity, but there’s no doubt they’d have settled for a draw before kickoff. Their backline and loose forwards put in an outstanding effort, and their tight five deserves praise for their development as players.
There is a lot to think about for France, which has appeared disconnected, devoid of ideas, and lacking confidence. Can they turn it around? We’ll find out in two weeks, when they travel to Cardiff.
Garbisi:
“I was just thinking about trusting my method. I accept full responsibility for that. I’m sorry for the team; they were fantastic today. And to all Italian supporters. That’s my fault.Overall, the performance was good. If you get to 13-13 in the final minute versus France, you’ve done well. The extra man was helpful. However, we spend too much time in our half during the first half. We had greater room in the second half. It all boils down to the final kick. This is only the third match under the new coaching staff. We’re still learning what they expect from us. We are learning new stuff.”

Shaun Edwards:
“Obviously, [having a draw is better]. We overplayed. Fortunately, the guy missed his kick. However, we are upset with the draw. We expected to beat Italy. In the first half, we dominated possession. The second half was the complete opposite. Conceding 13 points with 14 players isn’t too bad.Clearly, you want your team to score tries. We faced a lot of strain. You have to credit Italy’s defence. They were as passionate about what they did as we were. They were great. No complaints regarding the red card. Nor should there be.”
Vintcent:
“It was upsetting to watch it hit the post. But I don’t think that detracts from the performance. We merely claimed we were blowing, but they are also blowing hard. If we could stick with the fight for 80 minutes, we’d have a shot.I’m quite pleased to be playing in front of so many people. The boys demonstrated a lot of heart. There is definitely something brewing here.”
